Yikes, there are too many vendors so the Mu‘umu‘u Market with O‘ahu and Kaua‘i vendors will be available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kaua‘i Shores hotel where the Lava Lava Beach Club is, said Pam Chock of the Kaua‘i Historical Society (Kay Koike was picking up a new Tambi Larsen book, “100 Entertainments” for a friend who was waiting at the Division of Motor Vehicles) that still have tickets available for the Mu‘umu‘u Pa‘ina Luncheon on Jan. 28 at the Smith’s Tropical Paradise from noon.

Happy birthday to Gina Fulop-Thomas, who got to celebrate her special day by getting to pose with the Baby Shark and the Fish (Brenda Biehler Turville of Showtime Characters said she cannot see so she gets to sit so she won’t step on any toddlers) that were on hand as Toddler Tuesday celebrated Ocean Day (the first Sanctuary Ocean Count presented by the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary takes place on Jan. 27) on Tuesday at Kukui Grove food court area.

Wes and Mary Pacanas of Da Wonton Shack (Wow! lots of new flavors since the days of the Aloha Market at the National Tropical Botanical Garden South Shore Visitor Center) had their cute little wonton dispensary (one of the advantages of being small) parked across the street from the Talk Story Bookstore (did you meet Natalie, the new “CEO II?”) where Ed Justus said “chicken books” are good sellers — especially “rooster books.” And the Celeste Mochi line is still available.

They’re back! JC Crouch said the Kaua‘i Senior Softball league opens its 2024 season on Saturday when Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami is invited to throw out the first pitch to Rep. Dee Morikawa at the opening ceremonies that will take place at Pat Baniaga field, next door to the Hanapepe Stadium on Saturday morning (the seniors play ball in earnest after that).
