An experience like no other — watching a key senior softball game with sports greats Tommy Rita (he knows everybody!), Glenn Nitta, Alan Smith, Danny Smith and others (Vern Ramey of Aikane retired as a Toronto Blue Jay?) as the Rookies from the Kaua‘i Senior Softball League upset the three-time defending champions Aikane during the championship game Thursday evening at the Pat Baniaga Field at Hanapepe Stadium.

Congratulations, Lourdes Torres and the Sustainable Boost ‘ohana on the “Grand Opening” of the Sustainable Boost factory at the Kinipopo Shopping Village where Kaua‘i County Council member Billy DeCosta got to sample a cricket (high protein, he said), and Council Chair Arryl Kaneshiro’s pride shone when he heard Dominique Chamber of Cozy Bowl (she’s a vendor at The Grove Farm Market that meets Saturdays from 9:30 a.m.) talk about the use of SB powders in creating some of her noodle creations, and real plants to color the creations…what’s this about ramen and Kaua‘i Kim Chee?
