Kudos to Waimea Canyon Middle School students Jordyn Esaki and Adrian Smith (he likes to do 3D printing!) of the school’s Genius Hour afterschool club (it’s all right, Mayor Derek Kawakami, we can wait until you get your face mask) for inspiring Tisha Remigio, Stephanie Iona, Laurie Yoshida and all those hands to host the Waimea Canyon Middle School food distribution so the homeless people can have food during the spring break.

Boy, talk about the celebrities that show up at the “super seniors” games (Ale Lomosod scored the go-ahead run on a Jim Bennett RBI in Na Koa Kupuna’s 16-15 win, and likes that term better than “Baniaga division”).

Play ball! Here we go, again…Tiffany Dick (she was at the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation baseball game) of Aloha Dance Studio said the studio’s latest generation of hip-hop dancers make their appearance on Saturday at 1 p.m. during the Kukui Grove Center’s Spring Break Family Fun Day.

Ayba Gonsalves (she was the rock in the midst of shoppers coming and going at the Times Super Market in Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e) of Girl Scout Troop 008 was tucked away in the back of the bank of shopping carts waiting to be sanitized (yes, the pandemic is still here!) Friday evening (Skippa Caycayon — he said his grandson Mikey Manera’s team got bus’ up — was playing bass on-stage).

Congratulations to all those Valentine’s Day special premiums (mahalo, Melissa McFerrin-Warrack, David Sosner and the Kukui Grove Center!) recipients that were available during Monday’s Pau Hana Market (Amy Chun got the last bag of tomatoes, and Stephen Fujii was looking for the Westside corn…).

Aloha, Jeff Haigh (Daryl Dobashi saw him last week, but the closest thing l got was the aging Lunar New Year piece made with tools borrowed from Dickie Chang)…hopefully, we get to see Jeff on the next go-round…and, we don’t need to know where the sand is because the inconsiderate hands and feet don’t need company.

How did that happen? Honest, the car “ate” the SD card. Somewhere in there there’s the card that contains coverage of the Kapa‘a Lions Club presenting Steve Kline and the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital all those dolls.
