Aloha everyone. I had to compose this song. There are so many Hawaiian names for the different valleys, slopes, trails, falls, that I had to name the center of this island The Mokihana Mountains, because that is where the mokihana berries grow. Paul Togioka plays the banjo.

LIHU‘E — The list of finalists is out, and five-time Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner and Anahola native Kainani Kahaunaele, 45, has been nominated 10 times for the honors, with a September ceremony planned.

Two young men from the North Shore of Kaua‘i, originally from New Jersey and Texas, respectively, formed a two-man rock band during the pandemic, producing music singles that are taking off and inspiring others nationwide.

Hope concerts on YouTube start Wednesday
LIHU‘E — Kaua‘i violinist and music teacher Kimberly Hope will be hosting her live stream Christmas concert on Dec. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. She will also be performing on Dec. 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Both concerts will be on her YouTube channel.

My father Mr. P.S. Rivera was a county plumber for many years from Mana to Hanapepe. He used to check the intake way up Waimea Valley, and he told me that one morning he saw a Menehune hurrying between the rocks. That’s how I came up with the song. Aloha and Mele Kalikimaka.
Free Henry Kapono Concert Celebrating Veterans
