Kaua‘i road closures for the week of Nov. 27 – Dec. 2

KAPA‘A — The County of Kaua‘i announced that portions of Mailihuna, Hau‘a‘ala and Kawaihau roads will be closed and detours put in place from Monday to Friday, Nov. 28 to Dec. 2, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for the ongoing construction of a new five-way intersection.

Kaua‘i COVID-19 update: 56 new cases

HONOLULU — Data released on Wednesday by the state Department of Health showed 56 new COVID-19 cases on Kaua‘i from Nov. 15 to Nov. 21, and 1,169 new cases statewide.

Kaua‘i road closures for the week of Nov. 20 – 26

KAPA‘A — The county Department of Public Works and Grace Pacific LLC announced that portions of Mailihuna, Hau‘a‘ala and Kawaihau roads will be closed, and detours will be put in place, from Monday through Friday, Nov. 21 to 25, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for continued construction of the improved intersection. No work will occur on Thursday, Nov. 24, Thanksgiving day.

Council approves affordable housing funding commitment

In a move to set a floor for affordable housing funding, the Kaua‘i County Council unanimously approved a measure on Wednesday that would allocate 2 percent of real property tax revenue each year to a housing development fund.
