Island road closures planned week of Aug. 1-5

LUMAHA‘I — The state Department of Transportation scheduled a right-lane closure on Kuhio Highway possible in either direction between mile markers 5 and 7, between Lumaha‘i Beach and Wainiha Bay, Monday through Friday, Aug. 1 to 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for guardrail repairs.

Rockfall closes highway in Waikoko

WAIKOKO — The state Department of Transportation reported that intermittent closures on Kuhio Highway will occur in both directions in Waikoko today between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for rock-scaling and slope-inspection work following a Monday rockfall.
