KIF announces swimming All-Stars

LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation on Friday released the 2024 KIF Swimming All-Stars, which included the Central Pacific Bank KIF champions, the Kaua‘i High School boys, and the Island School girls.

LIHU‘E — Kapa‘a High School senior Olivia Malafu, of the state Division II third place team, will be participating in the 30th Mufi Hannemann Basketball Jamboree that will be held at the ‘Iolani School gyms starting on Monday.

Wailua Heritage Trail pau, for now

WAILUA — A joint effort between the County of Kaua‘i, Hawai‘i Tourism Authority, Kaua‘i Visitor Bureau, Hawai‘i Department of Land and Natural Resources and Royal Coconut Coast Association (RCCA) resulted in the expansion of the Wailua Heritage Trail to a full 3-mile route.

Inouye, Lin fuel KIF at state swim meet

KIHEI, Maui — Island School senior Chloe Inouye won a gold medal and Kaua‘i High School sophomore Brandon Lin earned two silver medals at the K. Mark Takai Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association swimming and diving championship that wrapped up on Saturday at Kihei Aquatics Center.

HILO, Hawai‘i — The Waimea High School varsity girls paddling team returned home on Sunday with a gold medal from the 2024 Hawaiian Airlines Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association canoe paddling championships that was held on Saturday on the waters of Hilo Bay.

‘Ohana Fit Fest shares $15,000

PRINCEVILLE — The North Shore Give, a community foundation, presented $15,000 in awards to five schools for their respective health and fitness projects from a portion of the proceeds generated by the recent ‘Ohana Fit Fest.
