Voyagers bid adieu to successful season
PUHI — The heavy afternoon and evening rains could not dampen the spirit of the Island School Voyagers who celebrated four of its seniors — June Hsu, Ashley Mecham, Katie Cook, and Ki‘ilani Arruda — with a 3-1 victory over Kapaa High School (they have seven seniors on their roster), Friday night before an appreciative audience that filled the Wilcox Gymnasium.
Kapaa Warriors shut down visiting Warriors

The Tres Amigos — David Johnens, Ramon Martinez and Johnny Mitsis — had no problem filling their event card Saturday while they welcomed the day in the cool (it helped with the morning rains, too) outside the Lihue Neighborhood Center, where The Memory Keepers (the county Agency on Elderly Affairs’ team in the Alzheimer’s Walk benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association) were hosting their annual rummage sale with Donna Olivas Kaohi (she couldn’t join Jim Jung and Grace Delos Reyes at the Kukui Grove Center children’s story hour), Johnny Yago (he was out of his active living gear), Rose Manago and Patricia Gonsalves.

The automotive population nearly exceeded the limits of the specially mowed, specially lit parking areas surrounding the Wilcox Gymnasium Saturday night during the Kauai Interscholastic Federation girls volleyball matches between the host Voyager women and the Kauai High girls.
