Congratulations to Stephanie Deng, of Kauai Handmade, who opened the doors to her shop (remember when she and Janath of Janath Collections were vendors at The Beach House craft fairs?) at the Coconut Marketplace just in time for the final weekend of shopping before Christmas descends Wednesday (keeping fingers crossed for nice weather).

Red Raiders split at home

LIHUE — Kauai High School’s Marissa Layosa took control of the first quarter, Friday night to lead the wahine Red Raiders to a 63-49 win over the Lady Warriors during the Kauai Interscholastic Federation girls basketball games at the Kauai High School gym that was filled with enthusiastic fans from both benches.

GIAC merry for Christmas

Wednesday was very merry for the Garden Island Arts Council at the weekly Kauai Culinary Market at the Shops at Kukuiula.
