‘Soul Surfer:’ A story with heart

“Soul Surfer” is a terrific film. Compelling story, wonderful scenes, outstanding cast. It wasn’t a huge box-office smash when it came out in 2011, but it should have been. From the opening scenes of the Hamilton family and a young Bethany Hamilton to the closing scenes where we see a collage of scenes of Hamilton surfing, this film tells a story that some might find too good to be true, but it is.

State OKs 5th medical pot dispensary

The Hawaii State Department of Health has approved a second medical cannabis retail facility for Oahu licensee Aloha Green Apothecary. The facility, 2113 Kalakaua Avenue, Unit 103, in Waikiki, passed its final onsite inspection Thursday.

Iguana found in Waipio-Gentry

A three-foot-long iguana was captured today by Hawaii Department of Agriculture inspectors in Waipio-Gentry on Board of Water Supply property adjacent to Kanoelani Elementary School.
