KOKEE – A search for a woman reported missing in Kokee continued Sunday afternoon.
According to family members, the 72-year-old woman left her Kokee cabin about 2:30 p.m. Saturday to take a walk.
At around 9:44 p.m., family members called 911 to report her missing. A ground search utilizing family members and personnel from the Department of Land and Natural Resources, Kaua‘i Fire Department, the Kaua‘i Police Department, and the Kaua‘i Search and Rescue canine team was initiated, and continued throughout the night and Sunday.
KFD utilized Air 1 for almost three hours in an aerial search of the area.
Sunday’s search areas included Waininiua Trail, Kumuwela Road, and Kumuwela Trail.
