KALAHEO — Willie Lawson bucketed 23 points in the second half to rally Westside Pride to a 73-70 overtime win over Wreckage at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center during the Kauai Youth Basketball Association 18 and Over league.
Lawson finished with a game-high 35 points followed by Kainalu Simao with nine points for Westside.
Coach Austin Rosa topped Wreckage with 23 points with Randy Vicoy adding 19 points and Petey Rubio finishing with 11 points.
The night opened with another nail-biter as Spam Lindsey came up with 17 points to lead the Kauai Athletic Club to a 54-52 win over Tropang-L.
Greg Ragsac added 11 points and Kanoa Chung finished with 10 points.
Vhincel Perpose came up with six points on two treys in the third quarter to pull Tropang-L from a 24-28 halftime deficit to outgun KAC, 18-13 in the period.
But KAC answered with a 13-12 final period, led by Spam Lindsey bucketing seven points, including a trey, for the two.
Allan Pablo topped the Tropang-L effort with 15 points followed by Sammy Perpose adding nine points.
Algfaio Brewer scored 14 points and Tab Matsumoto added 13 points to lead the Kings to a 75-38 win over Hanakila, which got 14 points from Brison Nacapuy and eight points from Christian Roslin.
Both Tropang-L and the Kings were scheduled to meet each other Friday night at the Kapaa High School Gym.
However, the game was mutually re-scheduled, resulting in just two games on tap.
In the 6 p.m. opener, the Westside Pride will meet Hanakila followed by the Kauai Athletic Club meeting the Nobodies at 7 p.m.
