Hats off to Paula O’Very Saylor and the Rotary Club of Kapaa on a great 25th anniversary edition of Taste of Hawaii!
Ron Wiley was so busy, he got pulled away from the voting with Steve Davis of Kauai Coffee to make sure people could win an overnight stay at the St. Regis Princeville.
Soccer angels Maddy Rausch and Chloe Fredericksen were out and about the event, but came back to watch Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. and Kauai County Councilwoman JoAnn Yukimura get their halos from Ric Cox, Ron Margolis and Sherry Gonsalves, the principal of Kilauea Elementary School.
Bobby Kubota of Pono Market (they’re a ticket outlet for the Meet the Coach Na Koa event Friday) had his family out in force. Track coach Bobby was grazing near Chef Leanne Kamekona and the fancy shrimp from St. Regis where Antonio Palomares did his sabering.
Jordan “Jo” Weaver and Beau Hannafious of Rainbeaujo’s was a first-timer vending a kale salad and coffee. Chloe Marchant said Rainbeaujo’s is a new food (and coffee?) truck parked near Kauai Producers in Lihue.
OK, time to see if we can find that coffee truck.
