Residents and visitors have an opportunity to meet University of Hawaii head football coach Norm Chow on Friday at the Kauai Community College Fine Dining Room.
Chow will be joined by Aaron Price, Rainbow Warrior offensive coordinator, and Chris Naeole, Rainbow Warrior offensive line coach. They will discuss the team’s spring practice review, new recruits, a preview of the 2013 schedule and season, and Kauai’s own boys who are on the UH Rainbow Warrior football team.
“Meet the Coach” is a fundraiser for Na Koa, the official booster club of the UH football program. Doors will be open from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
Sean Michael Shigematsu, a Kapaa High School alumnus, and Siasau “Saui” Matagiese, a Waimea High School alumnus, are two Kauai boys on the Hawaii football roster.
Shigematsu is listed as a junior offensive lineman while Matagiese, a senior, is on the defensive line.
The team opens its season Aug. 29 by hosting USC at the Hawaiian Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium.
Tickets to Meet the Coach are $40 presale and $50 at the door. The event includes food, drink and prizes, in addition to meeting the Hawaii coach and his staff.
Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr., a former collegiate and National Football League player, is expected to be in attendance for an evening of football talk.
