The nearly 200 students from the county’s summer enrichment program, Kapaa and Kilauea sites, were greeted by Scott Johnson and Sam Maehata, Wednesday when they were treated to a ride on Wainiha, the Grove Farm Homestead Museum locomotive.
Scott got help from “No. 4” daughter Mikiala (how come we didn’t see the forklift?) who works at Macy’s, although she could pass as a summer intern for the county’s Department of Parks and Recreation.
Scott is already recovered from the Saturday Old Times Games and was rarin’ to go with the summer enrichment students.
And for those interested in games, Annette Wong and the StarWish group at the Sheraton Kauai Resort are hosting a Fourth of July event featuring a Rubber Duckie Race and Wong’s Traveling Petting Zoo (you have to visit Christy who is very knowledged about their animals). The event runs 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 4, which means there’s time to take in the Sheraton event and the Kauai Hospice “Concert in the Sky.” Now, who was the Fourth of July baby who was shopping at Times Supermarket, Tuesday night?
