Applications for golfers and sponsors are being accepted for the 8th annual Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School Media Productions Class golf tournament.
The golf tournament fundraiser for the media class, more commonly known as CKTV, will play July 14 at the Wailua Golf Course with a 6 a.m. registration and 7 a.m. shotgun start.
A luncheon at the CKMS Cafeteria will follow play.
Registration fee for individuals is $100 per golfer and includes greens fees, cart rental, coffee service and pasteries prior to the shotgun start, and the luncheon at the CKMS cafeteria.
This year’s tournament entry fee includes free entry into the one and off the green contest.
Tournament play is individual low net and Peoria System with men having a maximum handicap of 27 and women, 36. Kauai Golf Association, of USGA established handicap will be used. For those with no established handicap, the Peoria flight will be used.
Kevin Matsunaga, the CKMS teacher, said the golf tournament is also seeking tee sponsors at the silver, gold, or platinum levels.
Proceeds from the tournament go toward helping the program during the school year, including a student field trip to the National Student Television Network conference.
During the school year ending June 2013, the CKTV students earned first and third places in the National Student TV video competitions and were honored by a visit from Gov. Neil Abercrombie.
Additionally, the CKTV students earned three additional national first place awards along with several second, third, and honorable mention awards in other national and state competitions.
Silver sponsorship is $100 to $199, gold sponsorship is $200 to $499, and platinum sponsorship is $500 and above.
