LIHUE — Ladies, it’s time to dress up in your most creative Victorian hat and attire for an afternoon of tea and pampering.
The Kauai Historical Society’s 5th annual Victorian Tea is slated for Sept. 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Makanalani Ranch in Kilauea. Makanalani, or “Heavenly Gift,” is a unspoiled haven with a sprawling ranch house nestled in a unique Hawaiian atmosphere, according to a release.
“We have it at a different estate every year,” co-chair Lori Marston said.
Marston and co-chair Cherril Sparks, along with their volunteer committee, are excited about this year’s spectacular venue and the magical ambiance they have planned.
“It is just so much fun,” Marston said. “We have two butlers this year instead of one.”
Ladies who attend this one-of-a-kind event will be treated to a savory menu of high tea delights, as well as a variety of entertainment and activities that harken images of the past.
This year’s setting lends itself to a variety of new experiences, as well as the return of the popular carriage rides, tea leaf reader and musicians who set the mood for a return to gentler times.
“We do a lot at this event,” Marston said. “And the ladies love it.”
Tickets are $50 per person and proceeds benefit the Kauai Historical Society. To purchase tickets or for more information contact KHS at 245-3373.
