LIHUE — The Kauai Filipino Chamber of Commerce has openings for both golfers and sponsors for its 12th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament, which will be played on Labor Day.
Tournament format is individual medal play with a maximum handicap of 32 for men and 40 for women.
Registration starts at 6 a.m. Sept. 2 at the Wailua Golf Course with a 7 a.m. shotgun start.
Entry fee is $80 per golfer and includes green fees, cart and the awards luncheon, which will follow the tournament at Lydgate Park. For non-golfers, the awards luncheon tickets are available at $15 per person. The luncheon is scheduled to start from 11:30 a.m.
Deadline for golfers to enter is 6 p.m., Monday.
Grand prize for the tournament is $500 in cash, or merchandise.
Various sponsorship packages are also available, including a major sponsor package of $1,000, which includes four golfer entries and a sponsor’s banner displayed at the event.
Diamond, or maharlika, hole sponsorship of $500 earns two golfer entries; gold, or magiting, hole sponsorship of $300 includes one golfer entry; silver, or mabuhay, hole sponsorship of $100 includes the luncheon fee waived.
Since its start in 2001, the Kauai Filipino Chamber of Commerce, through its scholarship golf program, has distributed more than $80,000 to Kauai students.
