Dr. Kani Blackwell is excited because the Kauai Powwow starts this evening from 4 p.m. and continues through the weekend. Alfred Darling of the Kauai Powwow Council has been talking up the event on the radio, and Christine Mryval is excited since she has a booth in the craft tent.
Alfred was at the National Recovery Month health and wellness fair (great job organizing the huge event, Theresa Koki!) talking up the event.
Jim Jung had his Kauai Lifeguard hat on, but stopped to chat with a senior concerned about giving up driving. Jim will probably be at the big Kmart safety fair coming up Oct. 12 in the parking lot.
Darryl Date of the Kauai Fire Department (you should see the Kauai Chamber’s Chantal Zarbaugh wield the fire extinguisher) said they’ll be at the Kmart event, but before that, will be at The Home Depot (they donated some supplies for the Mahelona Memorial Hospital’s “Walk to Celebrate Life”) on Oct. 5.
Josie will be walking Oct. 4 and Katie Gallo said they’ll be a virtual team during the Race for Life on Oahu. Anyone wanting to help can check with the Mahelona Auxiliary at the hospital’s gift shop!
