LIHUE — A Kauai man was found dead on the back porch of an abandoned home in Hayward, Calif.
The Hayward Police Department identified the man as Marcus Allen Brown, 29, of Lihue,. He died of blunt trauma to the head sometime overnight on Sept. 4-5, according to a story from the Bay Area News Group.
Brown’s body is being kept at the Alameda County Coroner’s Office.
Hayward police confirmed that Brown’s full name and date of birth as June 14, 1984, from information it had from a missing person’s report filed by someone from Kauai with the San Jose Police Department.
“This case was not registered with KPD,” Blane said. “KPD is not involved in a missing person or homicide case involving Brown.”
County spokeswoman Sarah Blane said Kauai Police Department has no information on the missing persons report filed with the San Jose Police Department, or of the alleged murder.
Originally from Virginia, Brown has resided on Kauai since 2009. He was 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighed 260 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
