WAINIHA — The Department of Water is issuing an immediate water conservation request for the Wainiha-Haena area due to a power outage along Wainiha Powerhouse Road this afternoon.
Customers are being asked to reduce water consumption to essential uses only, such as cooking, bathing and toilet flushing.
The conservation request is expected to continue through tonight while utility crews work to restore power to the area.
