Joni Bostick of the Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital said she’ll be helping push residents in wheelchairs Friday morning when Josie Pablo coordinates the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital’s first cancer walk in commemoration of October being breast cancer month.
Katie Gallo of the American Cancer Society said proceeds generated by this walk, which was inspired by the residents, will be part of the Komen Race for the Cure walk on Oahu Oct. 20.
Joni was helping Misty Silva of Mahelona Hospital (she said she’ll be helping at the walk, too) at the big job fair Wednesday. Kudos to Eric Nordmeier and all his helpers on a great event with nearly 60 vendors (was nice to see Daniel Momohara of Kauai Coffee, too!) offering job opportunities.
Hot on the heels of the Friday walk, Debi Matsumoto said the Lions Clubs will be helping at the National Federation for the Blind, Kauai Chapter at its White Cane Day from 10 a.m. at the Kukui Grove Center.
