Keala Kai, Nalani Kaneakua and Dennis Chun will talk story about their adventures aboard Hokulea, sailing as the ancient Polynesians did 1,500 years ago using only the stars, moon, sun and wind as navigational aids, on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Kauai Museum Courtyard. Kaneakua was the chef and only woman aboard Hokulea’s voyage from Rapa Nui to Tahiti, 29 days almost entirely at sea. “We needed to work together to make the canoe move. It’s the same here on the island,” she says. “It doesn’t take much to be happy, as long as we have each other.” Admission is free to Kauai residents; half price for visitors. Info: (808) 651-3533
