The Modern American Circus is truly a traveling circus. The Circus launched its Hawaii debut in September on the island of Molokai to cheering crowds that were blown away.
A five-week stay on Oahu thrilling packed houses on the weekends kept the action going. Then the troupe spent two weekends in Hilo and Kona. The circus will perform on Maui under the Big Top Tent this weekend before packing up the containers and heading over to Kauai at Kauai Community College.
Plans were made originally to bring the big top tent over to Kauai but a scheduling conflict caused a change in plans and the performances will be held at Kauai Community College thanks to the support of the College to assist with the late change.
The in-door performances will now allow shows to be put on into the evening, which may afford more people the opportunity to attend.
The Modern American Circus will be performing at Kauai Community College Nov. 15 to 17. Shows are scheduled Friday: 7:30 p.m. Saturday: 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 7:30 p.m. Sunday: 1 p.m., 4 p.m.
The Modern American Circus is a highly-acclaimed world class troupe of over 30 circus performers from various locations around the world, including Hawaii, that perform acts of great strength, agility, and genius. There are no animals used in the performances so the acts are safe and animal free. They perform together in a 105-minute show (with a 15 minute intermission) in a traditional, giant big-top circus tent that can accommodate well over 1,000 people per show comfortably.
There are general admission seats and VIP box seats. Tickets are available on-line at www.modernamericancircus.com, people can also call (808) 781-4773 for tickets and more information. The website also includes a full list of locations and show times.
