LIHUE — Employees of Hawaii Gas Co. on Kauai gave a $2,500 check to the Kauai United Way 2013 annual campaign on Thursday.
Lynnette Medrano-Stine, the KUW campaign development director, said the amount is in addition to the $4,153 which was raised through employee pledges.
The $2,500 contribution brings the total from Hawaii Gas Co., Kauai to $6,653, she said.
“We are tremendously grateful to the management and staff of Hawaii Gas Co. for their continuous support of Kauai United Way,” Medrano-Stine said of the donation. “They strive and achieve 100 percent employee participation each year.”
Kauai United Way is Kauai’s umbrella charitable organization where one contribution helps the entire island.
Money raised on Kauai stays on Kauai, and KUW’s participating agencies offer a diverse array of dozens of social service programs which save lives daily and helps tens of thousands of Kauai people each year.
