Albina Viernes
Albina Villanueva Viernes of Hanamaulu passed away at Straub Clinic and Hospital in Honolulu on December 19, 2013, at the age of 74. She was born in Vintar, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on March 1, 1939, and was a retired custodian for Kauai High School.
Preceded in death by her husband, Monico; brother, Dionicio Villanueva and sister-in-law, Emilia Villanueva.
She is survived by her son Michael (Maria Victoria) Viernes of Kapolei; 2 grandchildren, Megan and Micah Viernes also of Kapolei; sisters Laureana Calaycay of Hanamaulu, Eugenia Agcaoili, Divina Gapusan and Corazon Villanueva, all of Vintar, Ilocos Norte, Philippines; brother, Clemente (Dionie) Villanueva of Honolulu; numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Reynold Kinoshita
Reynold Tadami Kinoshita of Kapaa passed away on November 25, 2013, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 45. Born on August 9, 1968, in Gardena, California, he was a Chemical Applicator at Kukui’ula Golf Course.
He is survived by his wife, Gaylen Kinoshita; son, Kerry-John Kinoshita of Kapaa; daughter, Tayler Kinoshita of Kapaa; step-son Gavin De Silva of Kapahi.

Rose Labez Pratten
Rose Labez Pratten passed away in Hillsborough, Florida on October 4, 2013, at the age of 87. She was born on Kauai on October 18, 1925. She along with her husband established Nature’s Finest Food, a natural food grocery mart in St. Petersburg in 1972.
Preceded in death by her son, Eric Dacay. She is survived by her husband, Glenn Pratten; children, Ronald Dacay, Leonard Dacay, Stella Tomita, Rosarie Dacay-Kelekoma and Jed Dacay; 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Connie Estenzo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration memorial service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church at 1 p.m. and inurnment at Kauai Memorial Gardens at 1:30 p.m.

Noreen Bautista
Noreen Q. Bautista of Kilauea, Kaua’i was born on March 3, 1957. She passed away on December 17, 2013.
She was the Administrative Officer for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at the Kaua’i National Wildlife Refuge Complex, Kilauea Point, Hanalei and Hule’ia National Wildlife Refuges.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rachel and Alfonso Bautista. She is survived by her sister, Nelly Bautista and her niece, Raina (Thomas) Bautista-Balai.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at St. Sylvester Church in Kilauea from 8 am to 10 am. Mass will follow. Requested attire is bright colors and/or bold prints.

Kenneth A. Souza
Kenneth A. Souza of Kalaheo, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on December 24, 2013, at the age of 75. Born on October 8, 1938, in Koloa, Kauai. He was a Retired feed salesman.
Preceded in death by his parents, Antone and Jane Souza; grand daughter, Kara Lee Souza.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Medeiros Souza; sons, Kenneth (Donna) Souza Jr.
Clyde (Gemma) Souza; Kevin (Elena) Souza; Kalvin (Dena) Souza; sister, Patricia Carvalho; brother, Denis (Beryl) Souza; grandchildren, Thalia Souza; Megan Souza; William “Bill” Souza; Clyde Souza Jr.; Erika Souza; Jayleen Mira; Keeley Stone; great grandchild, Kaliah Stone, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kalaheo. Visitation at 9 AM, Mass to be celebrated at 10 AM.

Betty Dansenburg
Betty C. Dansenburg, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on November 30, 2013, at the age of 89. She was born on March 17, 1924, in Wichita, Kansas. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, George (Bud) Dansenburg; parents Ward W. and Celesta E. Kelly, brother Jerry Kelly and great-grandson Nolan Kenneth Campbell. She is survived by her daughter Susan (Eric) Campbell of Kalaheo; son Dan Dansenburg of Lake Havasu City; and 5 grandchildren: Douglas (Debbie) Campbell of Poulsbo, WA; Jeremy Campbell and friend Jenni Scotti; Rhian (Sundee Cline) Campbell of Kekaha; Heidi (Matt) North of Lake Tapps, WA and Gary Dansenburg of Renton, WA as well as 2 great-grandsons, Tyler and Kyle North.
Memorial Service will be held August 12, 2014, at 1 PM at Mt. Tahoma Veterans’ Cemetery in Kent, Washington with reception (to be announced) following.

Itsuki Kajitani
Itsuki Kajitani passed away on December 26, 2013, at the Regency at Puakea athe age of 96. Born on November 14, 1917, in Makaweli Camp II, Kauai, he was a Processing Supervisor with Olokele Sugar Co. and Starter at Kukuiolono Golf Course for 30 yrs.
He is survived by his daughter, Mari (Husband David) Kurose of San Francisco, CA; sister, Chiyoko (Ernest) Lau; and two grandchildren.
Private Memorial Services will be held at a later date.

Janet Brazzi
Janet D. “Dolores” Brazzi of Kapahi, passed away on December 23, 2013, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at the age of 81. Born on May 3, 1932, in Independence, Missouri, she was a secretary for the State of California.
She is survived by her daughter, Marci (Frank) Whitman, Lihue; 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.
A private celebration of life will be held.

Dorothy Gonsalves
Dorothy Gladys Gonsalves of Kapaa passed away at Garden Isle Healthcare on December 24, 2013, at the age of 87. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on March 17, 1926, and was the owner/operator of Morris Care Home and retired from TSA.
Preceded in death by her husband, Raphael Gonsalves; mother, Catherine Teves; sons, Jeffrey Bushe, Lawrence Bushe, and daughter-in-law, Shirley Bushe.
She is survived by six children, Eleanor (Richard) French, Sue (Billy) Lopes, Christopher (Stacy) Bushe, Alida Bushe, Brian (Jenny) Bushe, Tracey (Jeffrey) Gillis; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at St. Catherine Church with viewing from 9 to 10:45 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Catherine cemetery in Kealia

Toshie Matsuyoshi Aquino of Puhi passed away peacefully at Garden Isle Healthcare in Lihue on December 14, 2013, at the age of 96. She was born in Eleele, Kauai on November 6, 1917, and was a dedicated homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Richard, 5 grandchildren; great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
