Juanita Labuguen
Juanita “Aning” Pascua Lagazo Labuguen of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on November 22, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 85. She was born on May 16, 1928 in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She retired from Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital as RN Supervisor. She also works as an OB/GYN Nurse at Wilcox Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Honorata Dumlao and Fulegencio Lagazo; Parents, Vito and Benita Lagazo; Husband, Flor Malapira Labuguen; Sister, Feliza Gloria Lagazo Tagavilla.
She is survived by her sons; Moises Jude Labuguen, Bennett (Ernelle) Victor Labuguen, Florante John Labuguen. 5 Grand children; Aaron Labuguen, Janessa Labuguen, Chaslynn Labuguen, Alex Yasay, Bryson Labuguen. 3 Great grand children; Duke Labuguen, Ha’ako Labuguen, and Crystal Yasay. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Dec. 14, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church, Lihue, Visitation starts at 8 to 9 am. Service starts at 9 am. Mass to be celebrated at 10 am. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery, Hanapepe.

Pelagia “Masing” Llego Suetos of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on November 20, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 77. Born on December 6, 1935 in Umingan, Pangasinan, Philippines. She was a Kitchen Helper at Samuel Mahelona Hospital.
She is preceded in death by: Husband, Bernardino B. Suetos, Sr.; Parents Emilio and Cresenciana Llego. She is survived by: Daughters, Adele (Max) Manera, Lihue; Patty (Mark) Dela Cruz, Oahu; Son, Emil Suetos, Las Vegas; Step-Daughters, Angelina (Benjamin) Martinez, San Diego; Olive (Salvador-deceased) Quitevis, Sr., Bremerton, WA; Sisters, Finalrin Andres, San Diego; Jane (Jimmy) Udaundo, Kapaa; Esther (Romulo) Dacuycuy, Kapaa; Brothers, Romualdo (Carmen) Llego, Kapaa; Hilario (Teodora) Llego, Kapaa; Lodevico (Rebecca) Llego, Kapaa; Elpidio (May) Llego, Alaska; Josue (Susan) Llego, Kapaa; 11 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Life will be held on December 19, 2013, at Lihue United Church. Visitation at 9:00 a.m. Service at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Kalapaki Bay Cemetery, Lihue. Casual attire is suggested.

Norma DeArmon
Norma DeArmon of Princeville, Kauai passed away on December 3, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 101. Born on March 31, 1912 in Holmes City, Minnesota, she was a secretary.
She is survived by her son, William Rash of Princeville; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Alejandro Alesna
Alejandro “Ale” Alesna of Kealia, Kauai, Hawaii. Passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. Born on March 13, 1933 at Kumu Kumu Camp, Kealia. He retired from Lihue Plantation as a journeyman painter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melchor and Blasa Alisna, wife, Elizabeth; brothers, Willie and Manuel and sisters, Dora, Pauline and Navis.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Alesna, Kilauea; sons, Andrew (Laureen), Alric (Kuuipo), Alfred (Bree) and daughter, Charlene. Stepsons, Darryl (Kelly) and Christopher Mealey, both of Australia. Brother, Domingo (Lourdes) Alisna, Hanamaulu; sister Beatrice Ancheta and sister-in-law Naomi Emproso. 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Dec. 13, 2013 at Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church, Kapaa.
Visitation at 9 a.m. and Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Saint Catherine’s Cemetery, Kapaa. Casual attire is suggested.

Donald McMillen
Donald Jesse McMillen of Kekaha, Kauai, passed away on November 30, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 66. Born on January 3, 1947 in Lexington, Kentucky, he was a Measurement Sys Branch Supervisor with Manu Kai.
Preceded in death by his son, Christopher Alexander McMillen; and parents, Samuel Clay and Charlene Jesse McMillen.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Taeza McMillen; son, Micah Kamuela McMillen of Honolulu; brother, James O. McMillen of Lexington, KY; sisters, Patricia M. Adams of Shelbyville, KY, and Lela M. Duff of Lexington, KY; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at St. Theresa Parish in Kekaha from 9:00 am – 11:00 am, service will begin at 11:00 am. Internment at a later date. Casual attire is suggested.

Bessie Kanahele
Bessie Naleinani Kanahele of Niihau passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. Born on February 6, 1933 in Niihau, she was a lead singer for Niihau Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Uilama Hoomana Ia Iesu Kanahele Sr.
She is survived by her sons, Uilama (Noelani) Hoomana Ia Iesu Kanahele of Niihau, Apolani (E Hulani) Kanahele of Kekaha, Brian (Cookie) Kauileinani Kanahele of Kaawanui, Kenneth (Momi) Kauionalani Shintani Jr. of Kaawanui, and Barney (Ualani) Shintani of Niihau; daughters, Dolores (Nalei) Niau of Kekaha, Dale Evans (Leimana Opio) Kanahele of Niihau, Judie (Kaui) Shintani Sr. of Niihau, and Laurie (Leo) Pahulehua of Niihau; sister, Kamala Garcia of Texas; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
