Al Akemoto of Honolulu said it took him more than an hour to find the Kauai High School gym on Saturday. Therese Jasper said Al is a stalwart Hawaii fan, coming to Kauai when the UH softball team visited Waimea last year.
Jory Jasper (she’s on the softball team for one more year) came home for the big game against Chaminade University, sharing that she has a class with Hawaii’s Davis Rozitis.
Kudos to Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr., Lenny Rapozo (he even arranged for a halftime game with the Lihue Lakers), Kauai Athletic Director Dino Pabre, Kauai High School principal Debbie Lindsey, and the army of volunteers (coach Bobbie Rapozo came home early from soccer) who made the night a memorable one!
Kudos to Jenaiah Banasihan on beating Taylor Gaspar during one of the free throw contests during the media breaks.
OK, tonight there’s the Bingo Night at Kukui Grove, hosted by the Regency at Puakea to help the food bank.
