Prior Learning Assessment has become a UH-System approved policy and is being implemented this semester at KCC to allow participants to receive college credit for career, military, expertise, and life experiences that are equal to college-level learning.

The Honda International Opportunities Fund recently awarded a $4,800 grant to the college to host its International Awareness Month in February and March of 2014. Mr. Paul S. Honda was a philanthropist with a lifelong affinity and commitment to international affairs.
His $1 million endowment led to the establishment of the Honda International Opportunities Fund. The fund is also used for scholarships for UH students to study abroad and as seed money to internationalize UH campuses.
The International Awareness Month is a way for the college to jumpstart efforts at bringing more international perspectives to the campus, and to better prepare students to live in an increasingly interconnected world.
