LIHUE — The new year has brought an end to Pasha Hawaii Transport Line’s interisland cargo service, according to a company official.
Emily Sinclair, Pasha’s senior manager, said the company did not refile for an interim order to operate between Honolulu, Nawiliwili, Kahului and Hilo.
The service ended on Dec. 31.
Citing confidentiality reasons, Sinclair could not provide specific information about the amount of cargo shipped to and from Kauai by the company each year.
In 2010, the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission gave Pasha the green light to operate between the major Hawaiian Islands through 2013. The company will continue transporting cargo between Honolulu and San Diego.
