People 18 and older are invited to hear author Carl Safina’s free presentation Jan. 15 at the Princeville Public Library.
The author of the “Eye of the Albatross” will begin speaking at 6 p.m. The 90-minute program is based on his book, which describes his travels around the world, including the remote Northwest Hawaiian Islands, to witness albatross breeding.
He will demonstrate how albatross are vulnerable to human activity.
Amelia, an albatross that was tracked by satellite while flying thousands of miles to find food for her chick, is the highlight of the presentation. Safina will also share what albatross survival teaches people about hope, persistence and the changing oceans.
