Betty Jean Gomes
Betty Jean Gomes of Lihue passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on January 21, 2014, at the age of 76. She was born in Lawai on April 12, 1937, and was the owner of Printing Services Corporation.
Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gomes; parents, John and Mary Santos; grandson, Aaron Pezario-Young; sister, Lillian Perreira and brother, Manuel Santos.
She is survived by three sons, Richard (Fran) Young, Robert (Pamela) Young, John (Deanna) Young; one daughter, Florence (Kevin Ono) Young-Cawaring; 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; brother, John Kenneth (Louise) Santos; sisters, Bella Ilalaole, Louise Silva; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Lansfield Pascual
Lansfield “Makule” Fredrick Pascual of Lihue passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on January 13, 2014, at the age of 50. He was born in Lihue on August 19, 1963, and worked with Department of Education at Kauai High School.
Preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Florence Pascual and brother, Leland Pascual.
He is survived by five sisters, Geraldine Ebinger of Oahu, Georgianna (Richard) Farthing of Hanamaulu, Sharmaine (Mark) Simao of Lawai, Mamo (Edward) Keopuhiwa of Hanamaulu, Cheryl Delos Santos of Lihue; six brothers, Merlyn (Robin) Raco of Los Angeles, Charles (Bea) Raco of Lihue, Edwin (Patricia) Ramos of Lihue, Howard (Darlene) Ramos of Lihue, Laurence (Angie) Pascual of Alabama, Dennis (Patricia) Pascual of Honolulu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Niumalu Canoe Club at Kalapaki Beach Park with visitation and services from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. Scattering of his cremains and pot luck luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers monetary donations appreciated.

John M. Corpuz Sr. of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on January 16, 2014 at the age of 98 at Garden Island Healthcare. Born on September 23, 1915 in Manaoag, Pangasinan, Philippines.
Preceded in death by his parents, Faustino and Maria Corpuz; sons, Edward and John Jr. Corpuz.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Corpuz, Lihue; daughters, Jacqueline Corpuz, Honolulu; Marie (Ray) Horikawa, Honolulu; Lerma (Domi) Laguit, Honolulu; Joanne (Bryan) Suguitan, Kauai; Joanie (Anthony) Morita, Kauai; sons, Abraham (Rowena) Sibuma, Kauai; Jonathan Corpuz; brother, Panfilo Corpuz, Las Vegas; Leoncio Corpuz

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday February 1, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lihue. Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m., Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 am. Casual attire is suggested.

Yoshiko Takeuchi of Kapaa, Kauai, passed away on January 24, 2014 at Samuel Mahelona Hospital at the age of 84. She was born on November 28, 1929 in Waimea, Kauai.
Preceded in death by her son Dean Takeuchi.
She is survived by her husband, Mamoru Takeuchi; son, Dick Takeuchi; daughter, Mindy (Don) Ching; brothers, Haruyoshi Watanabe and Clifford Takahashi; sisters, Tomiko Ando, Nobuko Nitta, and Masako Leong; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Masao “Sonny” Watanabe
Masao “Sonny” Watanabe died on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the Hale Kupuna Heritage Home in Omao, Kauai at the age of 94. Born on June 9, 1919, in Makaweli, Kauai. He was a heavy equipment operator with Olokele Sugar Company.
He was preceded in death by brother, Katsuyoshi Watanabe and sister, Hitomi Oda.
He is survived by his brother, Katsushige Watanabe of Honolulu; sisters, Tsunako Tanigawa of Honolulu, Hisako Watanabe of Honolulu, and Ayako Honma of Kaumakani, Kauai; brother-in-law, George Oda of Honolulu; sister-in-law, Jean Watanabe of Honolulu; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy N. Teshima
Nancy N. Teshima of Omao passed away at home on January 7, 2014 at the age of 82. Born on January 6, 1932 in Lihue, Kauai, she was a retired school teacher with Kauai High School.
Preceded in death by her husband Hideo Teshima, son Niles Teshima and parents, Kanzuchi and Shizue Okano.
She is survived by her son Kevin (Camille) Teshima of Ewa, daughter Cheryl (Kirkjon) Peters of Omao, two grandchildren, Kehvee and Kahmee, sister Betty Okimoto of Kaneohe, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Private Services were held. No koden requested.

Sueno Honma
Sueno Honma, of Lawai, Kauai passed away December 31, 2013 at Queen’s Medical Center at the age of 89. Born on March 2, 1924 in Makaweli, Kauai she was an accounts clerk for Olokele Sugar Company in Kaumakani.
She is survived by daughter, Rebecca (Carl) Honma-Ashizawa; son, Grant Honma; sisters, Chikako Yamashiro, Haruno Souza, Margaret Oshiro, Dora (Sutemi) Yamamoto, Rachael Yamashiro, Marjorie (George) Honjiyo; sister in laws, Momoye Yamashiro, June Yamashiro, Rin Sakoda, Ayako Honma; brother in laws, Hiroshi (Sadie) Honma, Alan (Ruth) Honma; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Hanapepe United Church of Christ from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; services will be at 10:30 a.m.
