Kudos to Marta Hulsman and Melanie Okamoto for doing such a great job putting together the seniors’ Valentine’s Day luncheon Friday at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.
Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. was able to make the party even if he was in attendance at the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital “wedding” (congrats to Josie Pablo and her crew on a great job there!) where the mayor partnered with Nalani Brun for a chicken-skin rendition of the Hawaiian wedding song.
Hats off to Kaleo Carvalho for making sure the mayor was on schedule (he must have been waiting in the car at the One Billion Rising).
Mahalo to Jenny Yukimura for making sure that Darin Moriki (how was Kalaheo Steak and Ribs?) knew about the event, and Joan Kealalio for getting the eight Kapaa High School Interact Club volunteers to the party to help and rock out with the kupuna.
