Jon Haneberg
Jon Lawrence Haneberg of Princeville passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on January 28, 2014, at the age of 67. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on September 20, 1946, and was self-employed.
He is survived by his wife, Kelley Carswell-Haneberg; sons, Ryan (Natalie) Haneberg, Milo (Carleen) Haneberg; daughters, Kela Haneberg, Kaulana Haneberg; 4 grandchildren, Kanoe, Nakoa, Hurley and Pohai; mother, Harriet “Calley” Haneberg; sister, Calley Morgan; brother, Scott (Joyce) Haneberg, Chucky (Rose) Haneberg and other family members.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Hanalei Bay Beach Volleyball Courts with food, music and beach volleyball.

Rolland Peahu Sr.
Rolland Bernard Keonaona Peahu Sr. of Lihue passed away at home on January 30, 2014, at the age of 81. He was born in Nawiliwili, Kauai on August 30, 1932, and retired from Hawaiian Airlines and Kauai Surf.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn; first grandson, Jimmy Leake Jr.; one brother and three sisters.
He is survived by daughter, Rowena (James) Leake of Lihue; son, Rolland (fiancé, Susan Kashiwabara) Peahu of Lihue; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lani Schumacher, Laola Rapoza, both of Lihue; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
Inurnment of Evelyn and Rolland Peahu Sr. will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors at 11:00 a.m.

Howard Kaohi
Howard Ma’ema’eolehua Kaohi, 77, beloved son, brother, husband and father, passed away on January 28, 2014 in Koloa, Kauai. Howard was born and raised in Hanapepe, Kauai. At the age of 12, he moved to Honolulu to attend The Kamehameha School for Boys as a 7th grader. After graduation, in 1954, he joined the Navy and worked as a welder. He served for 3 years on the USS Hornet. He then became a flight attendant for United Airlines until he retired, with 40 years of service, in 1998. In 2000, he returned to Kauai. He was an active member of the Koloa Community Association and served on the Board of Directors. His favorite pastimes included coaching soccer, building houses, traveling (he visited every Continent except Antarctica) and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his mother, Gloria Kaohi; his sister, Bernadette (Lowell) Lancaster; wife, Sharon Kaohi; son, Kevin (Kate) Kaohi; daughter, Julie (Dean) Kaohi-Matsumoto and 5 grandchildren Lei’ala, Anuhea, Lehua, Pohai and Kamaha’o.
Memorial services on Kauai will be at the Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo on Saturday February 8. Visitation begins at 8:30 am. Aloha attire. Memorial services on Oahu will be at the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Memorial Chapel at the Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Campus on Sunday February 16. Visitation begins at noon. Aloha attire.

Luis Quel
Luis Serano Quel of Hanamaulu passed away at home on February 3, 2014, at the age of 93. He was born in San Juan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on October 11, 1920 and retired from Harry’s Appliances and Sears Roebuck & Co as a salesman and from Kauai Surf as a chef.
Preceded in death by his wife, Felicidad Quel; son Henry Quel; great-granddaughter, Anjannette Duyanen; great-grandson, Justice Quel; brother, Alvaro Quel; sister, Victoria Quel Aquino and Cerenia Quel Racca.
He is survived by one son, Pacifico “Pat” (Clementine) Quel of Hanamaulu; daughters, Elsie Ollado of Sacramento and Norma Vida of Los Angeles; 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; sister, Adelina Quel Villamar of the Philippines; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.

Arcadia Ancajas
Arcadia “Ading” Malubay Tabura Ancajas of Kapaa passed away on January 27, 2014, at the New Bayugan Medical Hospital, Bayugan Philippines at the age of 71. Born in the Philippines on December 28, 1942, moved to Kauai in 1971 and retired as a housekeeper for Kahili Adventist Park and Island on the Beach Hotel.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Venancio Benny Tabura Sr.; parents, Macario and Romana Malubay; step-children, Marie Tabura Hiranaka, Venancio Benny Tabura Jr. and Yolanda Tabura Cabinatan.
She is survived by her husband, Dante Ancajas of Kapaa; children, Kevin (Aimee) Tabura, Tanya (Eric) Tabura Bordenkircher both of Kapaa, Hannah (James) Ancajas Aba of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Liane Ancajas of Honolulu; step-children, Lourdes (Norman) Tabura Carlos of Kapaa, Sally (Jeff) Tabura Callejo of Lihue, Katherine (Larry) Tabura Akau and Melanie (Michael) Tabura Marshall of Kapaa; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Fredo Malubay and Brino Malubay of Bohol, Philippines; sister, Linda Mayorani of Rome, Italy; numerous step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Kapaa Seventh Day Adventist Church at 4:00 p.m.

Naumu Thomas Kekoa Spencer of Lihue, Kauai, passed away on January 27, 2014 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 23. Born on October 27, 1990 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. He was a Construction Worker.
Preceded in death by his Grandmother Lana Gonsalves and his Grandfather Earl Spencer, Sr.
He is survived by his son, Titus Naumu Oia Io Koa O Akua Santiago Spencer; Father: Earl (Harilynn) Spencer, Jr.; Mother: Staci Gonsalves; 10) Sisters: Keikilani (Micah) Spencer; Jennie-Lynn (Tai-Tano) Kaaumoana; Nina (Keawa) Kaaumoana; Franki (Noah) Lopez; Tiffany Kaaumoana Spencer; Anuhea Kaaumoana Spencer; Kailana Lopez; Kyla Lopez; Kayla Gushiken; Zoelynn Gonsalves. 3) Brothers: Thomas (Patsy) Spencer; Kolo Kaaumoana; Elijah Kaaumoana Spencer. Grandfather: Thomas (Evelyne) Gonsalves, Sr.; Grandmother: Annalene Spencer; Numerous, Aunties, Uncles, & Cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday February 15, 2014 at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9: 00 am to 10:45 am where services will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at the Hanalei Community Cemetery.
