POIPU — Diners at the RumFire restaurant at the Sheraton Kauai Resort helped the victims of Typhoon Haiyan through the American Red Cross to the tune of more than $2,600 in January.
Annette Wong of the StarWish Foundation, the charitable arm of the Sheraton Kauai, presented a check for the amount Wednesday to Keri Russell of the American Red Cross, Kauai Chapter.
The amount represents proceeds from the You Dine, We Donate program for the month of January centering around Table 53 located in the RumFire restaurant.
“The people of Kauai have an intimate knowledge with the power and destruction of Mother Nature,” said Chip Bahouth, Sheraton Kauai general manager, in a release. “We are happy to provide aid to the resilient people of the Philippines through the American Red Cross.”
Patrons interested in participating in the RumFire You Dine, We Donate program are encouraged to make reservations for Table 53 by calling 742-4786.
