Samuel Ramos
Samuel Martinez Ramos of Lihue passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 11, 2014, at the age of 61. He was born in Ilocos Sur, Philippines on May 24, 1952. He retired from Lihue Sugar Plantation as a Heavy Equipment Operator and was employed by Smith’s Tropical Paradise as Maintenance Personal and Landscaper.
Preceded in death by his daughters, Michelle and Leilani Ramos; parents, Primitivo and Maria Ramos.
He is survived by his wife, Reynalda “Renee” Ramos; son, Samuel “Jun” (Kanani) Ramos Jr.; four grandchildren, Alyssa Lardizabal, Xandra Ramos-Masumoto, Alexis Ramos, Pua’ala Akui-Ramos;four brothers, Reynaldo (Marjorie) Ramos, German (Mila) Ramos, Crescencio “Cres” (Becky) Ramos, Jerry (Emily) Ramos; one sister, Gladdy (Angel) Palaroan; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A wake service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014, at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Lihue Cemetery.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Ramos family with arrangements.
Yoshie Shirai
Yoshie Kanenaka Shirai of Lihue passed away on March 9, 2014 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 94. Born on January 14, 1920 in Lihue, she was a sub-teacher and homemaker.
Predeceased by her husband Toyoharu Shirai and parents, Kanichi Kanenaka and Tamako Arimoto.
She is survived by her sons, John Francis I. Shirai of Honolulu, Samuel M. Shirai of Lihue, and Arthur M. Shirai of Kent, WA; daughter, Martha S. Shirai of Honolulu; brothers, Edwin (Janet) Kanenaka, Ernest (Lorraine) Kanenaka, and Henry (Gladys) Kanenaka, all of Oahu; sisters, Dorothea Kanenaka and Amy (Warren) Kurata, both of Oahu; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 29, 2014, 10:00 am at Lihue Christian Church. Service will begin at 11:00 am. The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Robert “Lopaka” G.K. Stevens
Robert “Lopaka” G.K. Stevens of Kapaa, Kauai formerly of Oahu, passed away on March 15, 2014 at the age of 73. He was born on November 15, 1940, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was a maintenance man for Duke’s Canoe Club and formerly a Safeway employee.
Preceded in death by his parents, Samuel & Ruth Stevens.
He is survived by his companion, Patricia “Patty” McMichael, Kapaa; stepson, Jason (Sara) Geffert, Connecticut; stepdaughter, Jessica Geffert, Lihue; numerous cousins, friends, grandchildren & great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 30, 2014 at his home in Wailua Homesteads from 4 to 7 pm. Private Service to be held in Nanakuli Oahu In April.

George Harrington
George Harrington of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on March 11, 2014 at the age of 46.
He was born on May 1, 1967 in Mission Viejo, California. He was the owner of Above All Granite.
Preceded in death by his son, Nathan Harrington.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Harrington, Kapaa; sons, Michael Harrington, Kapaa; Joseph Harrington, Kapaa; parents, Bruce & Lucille Harrington, Oregon; brothers, Scott “Chivo” Harrington, California; Brett Harrington, Oregon, numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Private services were held.
