Donny Kadokawa of Kado Baseball is offering Kauai youth baseball players a series of four baseball camps during spring break.
“I know the kids from Kauai will benefit from the baseball camps, if they attend,” Kadokawa, who is returning after a successful tour last year, said.
He is also offering a free coaches’ clinic.
Kado Baseball camps offer hitting fundamentals, throwing and catching, pitching mechanics, catcher skills, infield and outfield play, base running, sliding, and speed and agility.
“I challenge you to take part in this camp and test your baseball skills,” Kadokawa said. “It will be tested in this camp. I want to see who rises to the challenge and walks away a better player.”
Players attending camp must provide their own glove, shoes, snack, and enough liquids for the entire day. Bats and helmets are optional.
Additionally, the camps will be held, rain or shine.
The first camp is open to players from 7 to 10 years old from 9 a.m. to noon on Mar. 17 and 18 at the Waimea Canyon Park. Enrollment is limited to the first 40 players to register.
The session for the 7 to 10s will be followed by a camp for youth players aged 11 to 14 year old.
The second camp will be held March 19 and 20 at the Lihue Baseball Field, also known as the Lihue County Park behind the convention hall parking lot.
Players between the age of 8 through 12 years old are invited to participate in the camp which will run from 9 a.m. to noon.
Camp moves to the Kapaa Ball Park, Pony Field from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., on March 19 and 20 where young players from 8 to 12 years old are invited to participate.

In addition to the above camps, Kado Baseball will also offer an advanced camp on March 19 and 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hanapepe Stadium.
This camp is open to players from 9 to 12 years old who have attended camp in 2013, or any of the above camps. Enrollment is also limited to 40 players.
