John Kagawa of Waimea passed away on April 11, 2014 at home at the age of 61. Born on October 29, 1952, in Waimea, Kauai, he was a Boat Builder with Fiber Glass West.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fumio “Fatty” Kagawa and Yoshiko Kagawa, and grand-niece Melina Walker.
He is survived by his wife, Raynette Samio Kagawa; Hanai son Anu Callahan; faithful dog Sarah; brother Howard (Shirley) Kagawa of Kentucky; sisters, Ann Kagawa Lee of Honolulu and Mary (Danny) Kagawa Garcia of Waimea; aunty, Doris Shimaoka, Kekaha; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and grand nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on April 22, 2014, at the Kekaha Boat House. Visit with family and friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Services begin at 6 p.m. Family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.
