KEKAHA — A single-car crash Saturday resulted in serious injuries for the driver.
A 30-year-old male from Kekaha is in stable condition at Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu following the wreck. No other passengers were in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
The Kauai Police Department said that a four-door sedan was traveling eastbound on Kekaha Road, just past Manu Road, about 1:30 a.m. when the vehicle left the road and struck a chain link fence, causing roughly $3,000 in property damage.
The driver of the vehicle sustained head injuries, and was transported to Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waimea before being medevaced to Queen’s Medical Center.
Police closed Kekaha Road for five hours while the accident investigation was conducted.
The cause of the crash is unknown.
