Teams from Wilcox Elementary School and Home Depot came together last Saturday for “Laulima” Alliance Day to build five permanent gardens. The two level gardens at the school are made out of composite board and last for more than 25 years.
There was plenty of raking and weed whacking around the garden perimeters, along with painting signs and other various garden projects. The next project is to plant sunflowers, herbs and pumpkins in the new beds. They will be tied in with writing journals for the kindergartners.
