Daniel Johnsen
Daniel Johnsen of Lihue passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 15, 2014, at the age of 79. He was born in Wisconsin on July 22, 1934. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He retired as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service.
Preceded in death by his son, Paul Johnsen and sister, Lillian Lewandowski.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Johnsen; two sons, Michael Johnsen and Danny (Sue) Johnsen; one daughter, Laurie Edmundson; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bob Johnsen; daughter-in-law, Leslie Johnsen; brother-in-law, Donald Lewandowski; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Johnsen family with arrangements.
James Carter
James “Jim” C. Carter of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii, Passed away on April 3, 2014 at the age of 82.
Born on April 28, 1931 in Tucson, Arizona. He was an engineer with Varian Associates also a project manager and developer of Clinac Radiation Machine, U.S. Marines Korean War Vet.
Preceded in death by his son, Michael Vaughn.
He is survived by his wife, Raeanna Carter, Lihue; daughter, Carrie (Steve) Clark, Arizona; sons, Bill Carter, Arizona; Chris (Jennifer) Carter, Georgia; brothers, Bill (Michelle) Carter, California; Grayson (Kathryn) Carter, Arizona; Clay Carter, California, 12 grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 26, 2014 at the Lihue United Church. Visitation at 9:30 a.m., Service at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery
Donations can be made to Lihue United Church.

Santiago Ganiban
Santiago Balico Ganiban of Hanamaulu passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on February 18, 2014, at the age of 96. He was born in Sarrat Ilocos Norte, Philippines on July 25, 1917 and retired as a landscaper from Smith’s Paradise.
Preceded in death by his wife, Agripina Ganiban and daughter, Eufemia Lagutan.
He is survived by his daughter, Carmen (Monico) Balico of Hanamaulu; four grandchildren, George (Rosevela) Garcia of Philippines, Madelyn (Emmett) Glee of Lihue, Romel (Gina) Lagutan of Canada and Saniata Balico of Canada; 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

Jennifer Tumbaga
Jennifer Maria Tumbaga, of Kekaha and Milwaukee, Wisc., passed away in her sleep at the age of 38. Born May 7, 1975 in Milwaukee, Wisc., she attended Kekaha Elementary and Waimea High School and graduated in 1992.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Lorraine and Raymond Krauss, Milwaukee, Wisc., and Maria and Daniel Tumbaga, Kekaha.
She is survived by her mom Lois Ann Krauss, Shorewood, Wisc., and Myrna and Job Tumbaga, Kekaha; sisters, Jenna (Raymond) Tumbaga-Do and Joanna Tumbaga, Honolulu and Jobyna (Ikaika Efhan) Tumbaga, Kekaha; Makoa Tumbaga-Efhan and Tina Garcia.
A Memorial service was held on January 18, 2014 at Feerick Funeral Home, Shorewood, Wisconsin. Private inurnment.
Feerick Funeral Home assisted the Krauss and Tumbaga family.
John Kagawa
John Kagawa of Waimea passed away on April 11, 2014 at home at the age of 61. Born on October 29, 1952, in Waimea, Kauai, he was a Boat Builder with Fiber Glass West.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fumio “Fatty” Kagawa and Yoshiko Kagawa, and grand-niece Melina Walker.
He is survived by his wife, Raynette Samio Kagawa; Hanai son Anu Callahan; faithful dog Sarah; brother Howard (Shirley) Kagawa of Kentucky; sisters, Ann Kagawa Lee of Honolulu and Mary (Danny) Kagawa Garcia of Waimea; aunty, Doris Shimaoka, Kekaha; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and grand nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on April 22nd 2014 at the Kekaha Boat House. Visit with family and friends from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Services begin at 6:00pm. Family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Earl Edwards
Earl George Edwards of Niumalu, Kauai passed away on April 14, 2013 at home at the age of 73. Born on August 14, 1940, in Beverly Hills, California. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, class of 1958. He was an Aeronautical Engineer by trade but his passion was building boats.
He is survived by Jacqueline Jaye Gardner and son Tim Edwards.
A memorial service will be held on April 22, 2014, 3 p.m. at Woodbine Cemetery in Puyallup, Washington.
A celebration of life will be held on Kauai at a later date.
