Blake joins Genworth
LIHUE — Jason Blake has been appointed as an independent long-term care insurance agent with Genworth Life Insurance Company. Jason specializes in long-term care planning information and guidance. He has been in the business six years and looks forward to working with clients and prospects in the Kauai region.
He is known for his expertise and straightforward approach to helping people understand potential solutions for their long-term care needs.
Genworth Life Insurance Company helped pioneer the development of long-term care insurance and is a leader in terms of individual long-term care insurance policies in force.
Corinne Cuaresma named KIUC Controller
LIHUE — Corinne Cuaresma, an accounting and regulatory professional at Kauai Island Utility Cooperative for the past 10 years, has been named controller, effective May 5.
As controller, Cuaresma will manage and supervise the accounting and warehouse departments. She will also provide financial statements, accounting and tax reporting and will maintain all accounting records. She will report to Karissa Jonas, vice president and chief financial officer of the cooperative.
Cuaresma began her career with the cooperative in 2004 as a plant accountant, responsible for maintaining accurate records for construction, plant and accumulated depreciation. In 2012, she was promoted to the position of regulatory analyst, where her responsibilities included working with the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission.
One of her most significant contributions to the cooperative was preparing a loan application to the Rural Utilities Service, giving KIUC access to $110 million of construction funding.
A native of Kauai, Cuaresma attended St. Catherine’s School and graduated from Kapaa High School.
She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration, specializing in accounting.
A Wailua resident, she also holds a master of business administration degree from the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii.
Hawaiian promotes, appoints
HONOLULU – Hawaiian Airlines has appointed Christopher Keen to the position of director — network strategy. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing and developing Hawaiian Airlines’ route network as it expands into new destinations.
Keen has more than a decade of experience in consulting with airlines on expansion strategies and network planning.
Prior to joining Hawaiian Airlines, he served as senior associate at Oliver Wyman, an international management consulting firm, where he consulted with different airline clients on strategic growth plans.
Hawaiian Airlines also announced the promotion of Alisa Onishi to the position of director – brand management.
In this new role, she is responsible for overseeing Hawaiian Airlines’ global brand strategy and visual identity. She reports to Avi Mannis, Hawaiian Airlines’ vice president – marketing.
Onishi, who joined the company in 2011, previously held the title of manager – promotions, where she was responsible for developing and executing the airline’s sponsorships and promotional events across its growing network.
She was also instrumental in launching six new routes for Hawaiian Airlines including Sapporo, Japan; New York City, Brisbane, Australia; and most recently, Beijing, China.
