Tyler Barton finished with a two-day 159 (87-72) to take the boys 15-18 flight at the Hawaii Junior Golf Association 2014 tour series Sunday at the Princeville Makai Golf Course.
Following Barton, Sequoia Logan, one of the Kapaa High School golfers during the Kauai Interscholastic Federation golf season, carded a 36-hole 180 (95-85) for runner-up honors in the boys 15-18 class at the two-day tournament which wrapped up Sunday.
Sabrina Murphy of Lawai filled in third place in the girls 11-12 class on her two-day 289 (143-146), the class being topped by Honolulu’s Milburn Ho who finished with a 12-over 154 (78-76) followed by Minny Byun of Honolulu (85-79-164) over the par 72 course which played at 5,974 yards.
Christian Ganir of Kapaa was five strokes off the pace in the boys 11-12 flight, finishing with a 36-hole 166 (80-86). Hudson Holland of Lahaina, Maui topped the flight on a 161 (78-83), also on the par 72, 5,974-yard course.
Niki Slater Upson of Princeville finished with a 216 (116-100) for third place followed by Ryan Chang Jr. (121-132-253) of Lihue, and E. Steele Parker (128-134-262) of Kalaheo.
Kauai golfers filled in the fourth through seventh spots and the ninth and 10th berths in the boys 13-14 flight, one of the largest fields in the tournament which played a par 72 over 6,585 yards.Â
