This Friday all Kauai and Hawaii students will have the chance to see how casting their votes can make a difference.
“We Vote Hawaii,” formerly named “Kids Voting Hawaii,” will open up the polls Friday for 24-hours so students statewide will be able to vote for their favorite online logo. Organizers say the process will give students the chance to practice the fundamental American right to vote in Hawaii’s General Elections.
Linda Coble, the Board of Directors chairwoman for We Vote Hawaii, said she hopes the program will stimulate not only children, but adults, when it comes to voting in the general elections. She cited the relatively low 44 percent turnout for adults in the 2012 election.
