LIHUE — Keiki to Career Kauai is hosting a free public event from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 5 at the Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center.
Karen Pittman will be the featured speaker. Pittman is a national leader in youth development, who speaks across the country with the message that all community members play an important role in helping youth be “Ready by 21” — ready for college, work and life.
“Kauai’s young people are the next generation of workers, leaders and parents. What we do today to prepare them for life will shape the future of Kauai,” notes Stacey Gillette, Keiki to Career Kauai Coordinator.
The meeting will also include a panel discussion, moderated by Pittman, with local leaders about current efforts on island.
This event is sponsored by Kauai Community College, the County of Kauai Office of Economic Development and The Learning Coalition.
