WAIMEA – The Community Emergency Response Team will begin its next training course in Lihue next week.
Classes will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. every Thursday June 19 through July 24 at the Kauai Fire Department at the Lihue Civic Center, 4444 Rice Street, ste. 315. The after-hours entrance is between the old Lihue Big Save and WorkWise Kauai.
CERT is a six-week disaster and emergency preparedness course that is tailored to citizens and taught by firefighters. It is free to residents, as part of a program sponsored by the Kauai Fire Department and the Kauai Civil Defense Agency.
Additional classes will be held islandwide. Dates and locations of upcoming classes will be announced as they are confirmed.
