KAPAA — Supercuts hair salon is holding a grand re-opening Saturday in the Kauai Village shopping center, 4-831 Kuhio Highway.
The event will begin with a lei ceremony and blessing at 8 a.m., followed by a day of specials, door prizes, cotton candy and shaved ice from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The store will also provide free hot towel service to guests.
The grand opening is an opportunity to showcase the new look for the store, with more open space and hardwood floors provide a bright, warm and welcoming feel, said Supercuts District Leader Leroy Thomas.
“We are excited that they are renovating the mall to match what we are doing,” Thomas said. “The stylists are ready to go and we are just enthused about everything.”
Supercuts closed following a break-in and fire on March 5. The store opened again April 11, but the grand opening event comes with the completion of all work and preparations, Caberto said, declining to say how much the remodeling cost.
The cost of the fire and water damage to the store and equipment was estimated at $60,000. The investigation is ongoing.
“The island is only so big and we think this is a great spot,” Thomas said. “As far as us being there, it has been a great thing serving the community since 2003.”
