LIHUE – Garden Island Federal Credit Union recently presented $1,000 scholarship awards to three recent high school graduates – Moani Genegabuas, Uakea Jose, and Angelika Questin. Each recipient is a member of Garden Island Federal Credit Union and will be enrolling full time to an accredited university for the fall semester.
All applicants were considered based on financial need, academic merit, community service, extra-curricular activities, awards and achievements, personal essay and letters of recommendation.
“This is Garden Island Federal Credit Union’s third year offering a scholarship program,” said Stephanie Shinno, Garden Island FCU’s marketing coordinator. “We are so impressed by all of the recipients and the accomplishments they have made so far. We are honored to help these students grow in their education.”
