Paulete Peterson of Kickshaw’s in Port Allen was experiencing her first First Saturday in Kapaa. She said Sandy Poenhelt had ordered the burger the day before and had one on order for later Saturday.
Bao Nguyen was taste testing the “Scientifically Salacious Black Bean Burger,” which, like Kickshaw’s, was appearing for the first time.
Mahea Patch had free kitties, and because it didn’t rain, Kenny Miyoshi and Calvin Fukushima made it from the K-PAL flag football games. They were parked behind Chris Kam who was cranking out kabobs close to where Donna Palmer and the Holoholona (Donna said it means “beast”) Strikers’ Girls Under 14 team was selling baked goods and other stuff as a fundraiser for an Oahu trip to the Aloha International games.
Lola Temme and Kyla Bandsma of the Onipaa GU16 soccer team (they were fundraising for a trip to the Rush tournament on Oahu) couldn’t pass up the free Braid Bar offered by Crystal Jefferson and Taryn Matsumura-Bardago of Epic Hair.
