The power of ‘life and death’
If the shoe fits:
Dogs and cats are overtly affectionate toward their own, if not toward humans. Dogs and cats are sociable, they feed, nurture, love and protect their young. Family dogs and cats love their owners even to the point of putting themselves in mortal danger to protect them.
Dogs and cats experience feelings of contentment and security; fear and apprehension in certain situations. We, as humans, share these traits with them in addition to the will to survive. There are some people, often times very intelligent and controlling people, whom crave the power of “life or death” over any living thing having these traits. These people receive a kind of pleasure from having this “power.” This condition has been referred to as a “God Complex.” These people are able to rationalize the animal’s destruction not only to their gullible cohorts, but also to themselves. Why dogs and cats? They are the easiest of targets, as they have virtually no “legal right” to live. I’m in no way a psychologist, nor an animal behaviorist. This is just Psychology 101 combined with observation and common sense.

Sen. Hee looking out for
Kauai’s best interests
I support Sen. Clayton Hee’s bid for Lt. Governor.
When the Koloa Camp residents were struggling to remain in their homes, Sen. Hee personally traveled to Kauai, toured the camp, met the residents, offered us support and advice. He guided a resolution through the state Senate calling for a solution to allow the residents to remain in their homes.
None of the residents were wealthy campaign donors, just working middle- and low-income families, but he brought his full effort to the struggle nonetheless.
Sen. Hee has clearly shown that he will support the ordinary man and woman, and I am honored to be able to support his candidacy in return.

Eleele overpass should
be ADA compliant
The pedestrian overpass in Eleele above Kaumualii Highway has been there for a very long long time. Why hasn’t it been questioned to make it ADA compliant? Yet, there is talk to make one (pedestrian overpass) near a hotel area on Kuhio Highway and to make it ADA compliant.
Is there something going on in the kitchen?

Thought police are everywhere
A song that was sent to me, I would like to share.
How many people thought as they drove by Coco Palms that the best thing to be done was to raze it to the ground.
And on the 4th of July 2014, the collective thoughts of people created such a scene.
Little do we understand the power of our words.
If we focus on the positive we’d build castles in the sand.
I’m as guilty as the next guy ‘cuz my Kamakaze thoughts helped to burn down Coco Palms but please don’t tell the cops.
Invasion of the thought police is coming down the line
Because what you’re thinking it might appear on line.
Suspended, reprehended and turned in.
Invasion of the thought police is really creeping in.
You can sing it too. Won’t give away the tune.
Just sharing.
